Computacenter – A New Name for CC CompuNet

Date: 3th November 2004

Local competence combined with the power of Europe’s leading vendor-independent IT infrastructure service provider.

CC CompuNet announced that the company is now officially called Computacenter, effective today. Following the acquisition of GE CompuNet 22 months ago, the Computacenter group has conducted a comprehensive integration program, which is now concluded with the name change. Fully integrated, the company will now combine its local strength with the power of Europe’s leading cross-vendor IT infrastructure service provider. “The name change is the final and logical step to integrate the German operations with the Computacenter group,” says Colin Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Computacenter Germany. “We provide expertise of unprecedented width and depth, specialized knowledge, best practices and industry-leading tools to improve the IT service standards of our customers. Our sheer size and the well-founded experience of our employees offer investment protection for our customers. As Europe’s largest cross-vendor IT infrastructure service provider, we can also leverage synergies for the cooperation with our manufacturing partners.”

Even closer to the customer

In order to further improve its responsiveness to customer requirements, Computacenter will make several adjustments to the German Sales and Service organization, effective January 1, 2005. The sales organization will then reflect the different customer segments. The new Corporate Division will address corporate customers that usually have more than 5,000 IT seats and a complex buying center structure. All other customers will be served by the Enterprise Division. As part of the Enterprise Division, the newly founded Telesales organization will assist Sales with the acquisition and support of smaller companies. Moreover, the task of another new division, Strategic Sales, will be to ensure a consistent manufacturing partner strategy for Computacenter.

The IT infrastructure service provider Computacenter will consolidate the formerly regionally-based service units as well as the consulting and project management organization into a national service provider under the name of Professional Services. “With a consistent positioning throughout Germany, we expect to achieve more Service growth,” says Colin Brown. “Our customers will benefit from an ever better service quality, which will ultimately improve customer satisfaction.”

Consulting, implementation and operation of IT infrastructures

Computacenter provides services for every stage of an infrastructure investment – from the number and nature of technical solutions to custom configurations to test and integration. By working with Computacenter, companies can ensure a continuous, efficient and cost-effective operation of their IT infrastructures. Computacenter’s service portfolio extends across the three areas of Technology Sourcing, Infrastructure Integration and Managed Services. On this basis, the company offers end-to-end services: IT strategy consulting, implementation of the proper technical solution and IT infrastructure operation, enabling IT departments to optimally leverage the value of their technical investments.
